Testing New Holistic Climate Modeling Tech with MIT

Studio Ma | Christiana Moss | Solemma Symposium Panel | MIT

To achieve net-positive building performance across scales and typologies, Studio Ma has partnered with Solemma — a software development company spun off from MIT, Cornell and Harvard’s Graduate School of Design — to test and advance a suite of new sophisticated simulation software called ClimateStudio. As part of Solemma’s Executive User Group, Studio Ma is using these powerful whole-building analysis technologies to create climate-responsive, regenerative architecture and transform ideas into inspiring, sustainable building designs. In February, Christiana Moss joined MIT’s Christoph Reinhart in Los Angeles for a day-long symposium and to present Studio Ma’s work on bioclimatic façade design and optimization, with case-studied including the angular, high-performance panels on the façade of the newly unveiled ASU Downtown Phoenix Residence Hall and Entrepreneurial Center.
